I have never done a dual boot but am not a total virgin to hardware and software.Just really do not want to have to load the windows 7 all over again as I have it running pretty good with a ton of adobe software.Would like to make it less complicated as possible and already have external floppy, but I see you mentioned USB flash drives won t work so just curious, thanks. I currently have an xp pro machine running on a sata drive. I have since built a newer faster machine also with sata drives running windows 7 64 bit. 50 Quote: Originally Posted by wpatters1229 I see that the process says you need to have a floppy drive. I take out the C drive from the xp machine and put it in with the other sata drives in my new win 7 machine.OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 6 I think you misunderstand me. After F6 I was actually shown 4 different contollers I started at the top and worked my way through all 4. During my search for Studio15 XP drivers I did run across a thread in Dell forum, where a person was trying to setup a WIn7/XP dual boot on a Studio 1558.

I am trying to make dual boot with win xp and win7 is preinstalled. I am running into a problem trying to add Windows XP. But when I try to install Win XP after the intial setup by windows I get a Blue-Screen with the following message: Stop: 0X0000007E 0X0000005, 0XF78D1EA0, 0XF78D1B9C acpi.sys-Address F73B9D66 base at F73AE000, Date Stamp 480252b1 I never get to the actual windows setup. So do I have to choose sata driver for xp or win 7. Sorry but I am a new bee, May be its very stupid questions but thanks a lot.
